LIV Aston brings the warmth of home and the polish of hospitality to shared spaces within Mirvac’s Melbourne build-to-rent community.
The project’s communal lounges, dining areas and places to work extend the experience beyond the apartment. Furniture helps these different settings feel related, while giving each a purpose of its own.
The interior design by Hecker Guthrie brings domestic warmth to hotel-style comfort. In the lounge shown here, soft upholstery, timber tones and a layered mix of seating create places to settle, gather and share the space.
Workshop contributed furniture packages to the development, including selections for shared areas. The project reflects an important consideration in build-to-rent: common rooms need to feel like useful, welcoming parts of everyday life. Considered furniture gives those rooms scale, character and a reason to be used.
