Rooftop energy at Johnny’s Green Room

Tables and seating at Johnny's Green Room in Carlton

Italian-inspired colour, timber and places to gather bring a lively terrace atmosphere to Johnny’s Green Room above Lygon Street.

Above Carlton’s King & Godfree building, Johnny’s Green Room brings an Italian summer mood to Lygon Street. The rooftop setting pairs city views with the warmth of timber, patterned surfaces and closely gathered tables.

Designer Dion Hall shaped the venue around a relaxed terrace atmosphere. Its semi-retractable roof allows that open-air character to continue through Melbourne’s changing seasons.

Workshop’s role covered procurement, with tables, banquette seating and barstools forming part of the project. Together, these pieces give people different ways to occupy the rooftop: a place at the bar, a table with friends or a seat within the bustle. The furniture supports the energy of the room while remaining part of a coherent setting.
